Online and In-Store Hiring
Terms & Conditions of Hire — THH
1) Agreement to Terms
By placing an order, paying, or collecting/wearing a hired item from THH, the customer confirms they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions of Hire.
By placing an order with The Hired Haus, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by our terms and conditions and privacy policy, forming a legally enforceable agreement between you and The Hired Haus.
2) Payment
Online hires: Full payment is required at the time of booking.
In-store hires: Payment is required at the time of hire/booking (as advised by THH).
3) Hire Period
Customers have the option to select a 4-day or 8-day hire period when choosing their item.
Any variation to the hire period must be requested in writing and approved by THH.
4) Returns & Due Time
The item must be returned by the due date/time advised by THH.
For posted returns, the item is considered “returned” when it is lodged/scanned with the carrier (not when a label is created).
If the due date falls on a weekend/public holiday, the item must be lodged/returned on the next business day, unless THH advises otherwise.
5) Late Returns & Late Fees
If the hire item is returned after 2:00 PM on the due date, 50% of the applicable bond (or an equivalent late fee) will apply.
If the hire item is returned after 1:00 PM the following day, the applicable bond will be forfeited in full (or an equivalent late fee will apply).
If no bond was collected for online hiring, THH will issue an invoice for the equivalent late fee, payable immediately upon receipt.
6) Bond
Online hires (shipping): No bond is required.
In-store hires: A bond may apply (where applicable).
7) Condition on Receipt
Customers must inspect the item upon receipt/collection. Any issues must be reported to THH immediately and before wear.
By wearing the item, the customer confirms it was received in acceptable condition unless reported prior to wear.
8) Care, Use & Prohibited Actions
The customer must take reasonable care of the hired item and return it in its original condition (fair wear and tear excepted).
The customer must not wash, dry clean, bleach, dye, iron, steam, alter, or attempt repairs unless expressly approved by THH.
Extra care must be taken to avoid (including but not limited to) fake tan, makeup, perfume, deodorant marks, smoking odours, rips, pulls, burns, and water damage.
9) Standard Dry Cleaning
THH covers standard dry cleaning provided the item is returned in its original, undamaged condition.
10) Excess Cleaning Fees
If an item is returned with excessive soiling, stains, odour, or substances requiring specialist treatment beyond standard dry cleaning, THH may charge an additional cleaning fee.
11) Damage, Repairs & Replacement
If the item is returned damaged, the following applies:

Faulty zipper: a $50 repair fee applies.

Irreparable damage: the customer agrees to pay the full retail price of the item.
THH will issue an invoice (if applicable), which must be paid immediately upon receipt.
12) Alterations
Alterations are not permitted unless approved by THH in writing.
If THH approves alterations, the customer is responsible for ensuring alterations do not affect the item’s original condition upon return.
13) Cancellation, Changes & Change of Mind
If the customer changes their mind or cancels:

No refunds are payable.

THH will retain the amount paid and any costs for alterations completed per the customer’s instructions (if applicable).

The customer may change their hire item, subject to availability.
If the cancellation/change occurs 14+ days before the pick-up/dispatch date:

A credit note for the amount paid will be issued after deducting the change/cancellation fee.

Credit note valid for 3 months.

Credit note can be used for new orders only (not existing orders).
If the cancellation/change occurs less than 14 days before the pick-up/dispatch date:

No credit note will be issued.
Fee: A $30 change/cancellation fee applies to all cancellations or changes.
14) Third-Party Collection
If someone other than the customer collects the item, THH is not liable for any faults once the item has left the store.
15) Delivery (Online Hires)
Delivery timeframes are estimates only. THH is not liable for delays caused by couriers, weather, service disruptions, or incorrect delivery details supplied by the customer.
Customers must ensure the delivery address and contact details are correct at checkout. Additional shipping fees may apply if redelivery is required.
16) Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, THH is not liable for indirect or consequential loss (including missed events, travel costs, or inconvenience). If THH is found liable, liability is limited to the amount paid for the hire.
17) Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees or rights available under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
